ARTIST STATEMENT

To me, the idea and the process of creation is as important as the image on the canvas. My art focuses on the spiritual, landscape, and human form.

I enjoy capturing dramatic emotion in the figure. Most of my art is expressive and somewhat representational.

A lot of my works depict scenes of life and death,  and include religious, and goth imagery. Mystery, eroticism, pleasure, devotion, and secret

are all themes prevalent in my work.

 

My paintings range from spiritual, gothic, written words on canvas, to old-world landscapes. In my paintings you will see a time in my life, or a spiritual moment.

My favorite mediums are oils, acrylics, and encaustics, with a colorful palette, thick lines, and textures. I consider all forms of creativity an open door to my painting, including my photography, etching, and writing.

My style has been compared to the Expressionist, Renaissance, and Post-Impressionist painters.
